Anystring is a guitar and bass tuner for Android, iOS, and the web. It has no account system, no analytics, and no server of its own. This policy explains exactly what the app does with your data, which is close to nothing.
Tuning requires listening to your instrument, so the app asks for microphone permission the first time you start tuning. Audio is analysed on your device in real time to estimate pitch, and each snippet is discarded immediately. Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere, and the microphone is released as soon as you stop tuning.
None. Anystring collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, contains no advertising or tracking software, and does not identify you or your device.
Tunings you create, the tuning you last selected, and small interface preferences are saved in local storage on your own device. They stay there, are not synchronised anywhere, and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the site data in your browser.
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
